Is it feeling like Fall to anyone else? It's August, yet a lot of days have the energy of September. Fall is a lot about pumpkins. We begin to see pumpkins in September and know that they will be around for at least the next four months. Everything from pumpkin pies to pumpkin mask will be highlighted during this time. In this article we'll talk about the beauty of pumpkin seed oil and how it's used in skin care.

Pumpkin Seed Oil

Pumpkin seed oil (PSO) is rich in vitamin E, zinc, omega 3- and 6- fatty acids as well as antioxidants, therefore it has tremendous benefits for your skin in terms of retaining moisture, fighting free radicals and maintaining a youthful appearance. The high amounts of zinc and vitamin E also improve skin tone, help wounds heal more rapidly, fight acne and help with skin renewal. Lastly, many of the minerals and vitamins found in pumpkin seed oil, are said to have anti-aging effects as well.

That's a lot to look forward to in one plant. Since it's this good, let’s try pumpkin seed oil in a bath tea. Your entire body will benefit from the beauty of the oil.

Pumpkin Bath Tea

Here's what you’ll need:

A glass bowl
1/2 cup of fine Epsom salt
1 teaspoon of pumpkin seed oil
4 drops of nutmeg essential oil
1/4 cup loose-leaf pumpkin spice tea
1/4 cup rolled oats
1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
Muslin tea bags
An air tight container
Twine

In a large bowl, combine the Epsom salt with the pumpkin seed oil and nutmeg essential oil. Stir well to evenly coat the salt. Add loose-leaf pumpkin spice tea, rolled oats and pumpkin pie spice to your bowl. Mix this blend really well and place in an airtight container.

Use by scooping 2 heaping tablespoons into a muslin tea bag. Tie it with twine and place it in your tub filled with water. Relax and enjoy its beauty. After your bath, toss the tea, wash the bag and have it ready for another use.
